Ms. Yvonne started off explaining what ingredients are needed to make the crepe itself. Which, surprisingly, is pretty much only milk, water, flour, eggs, and a pinch of salt. We mixed all the “wet” ingredients first so that it would be easer to mix in the “dry” ingredients
Ms. Yvonne explained that we should only use eggs that were laid from a happy chicken. Happy chickens are chickens whose diet consists of healthy grains with no added hormones or antibiotics, not kept in cages and are free to roam A happy chicken lays healthy eggs.
After our ingredients were mixed together, we poured around ¼ a cup of our mixture in a frying pan with a little bit of Pam that was heating up atop the Bunsen burner. A stove works just as well. After we poured the batter, we needed to quickly spread the batter all around the frying pan. After waiting about 3 minutes, we flipped the crepe to cook on the other side. After one more minute, we flipped the crepe onto a plate. This was the tricky part and it took us several attempts to get it perfect. But then, ta-da! One perfectly made crepe. All that was left to do was add the filling. We used a mix of blueberries, blackberries, banana slices, and strawberries for the filling and drizzled a few chocolate chips some delicious 7 Stars yogurt on top.
And it was that simple; in less than five minutes we had made a snack that was absolutely delicious and healthy!
